Brush 4

Class 47 Brush 4, as it would have been then, passing Cants Lane Bridge in Burgess Hill 1967/8 en-route to Brighton with what maybe the Manchester service.

  1. I doubt that this is a regular service as the headcode letter is Z,which almost invariably denotes a special working.
    If it was a timetabled service to Manchester (or anywhere else on the LMR) it would bear the latter M (which the Thameslink and Croydon-MK services still do, albeit invisibly).
    Nice pic, I like these "intermediate" liveries.
