You know, this is looking awfully familiar. I built something similar on my boxfile layout: http://www.pagenumberone.co.uk/layouts/Boxfile/buildings.htm It just shows that there are some of us out there who understand how important the mundane is to modelling.
The 2mm mounting card ran out so I was forced to rummage in the bin for something else to use...it's what I do best.
